Facial Liposuction

Facial Liposuction is a popular and incredibly common cosmetic procedure. Designed to permanently remove fatty tissue from the cheeks, chin and neck, it is an elective procedure in which the surgeon can remove undesirable, subcutaneous fat in specific areas that do not respond to diet and exercise.

Ideal candidates for this procedure include those with a good skin tone who have stubborn fatty deposits in and around their face. It’s important to note that this procedure is not a treatment for obesity, but rather a cosmetic solution to fatty deposits that do not go away even with proper exercise and dietary habits.

In a facial liposuction procedure, the surgeon makes small, discreet incisions in the face or neck while the recipient is under general anesthesia. Then, using a tool called a cannula, the subcutaneous fat is removed through a suction machine. The procedure can take an hour or more, but the results are permanent.

Liposuction

Like facial liposuction treatment, generalized liposuction is a common, popular procedure intended to permanently remove fatty tissue, also known as cellulite. This is a way to get rid of unwanted fat that does not go away, even with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

The most common places to get liposuction are the face, neck, hips, thighs, abdomen, knees and ankles. Results of liposuction can be affected by a variety of factors, including physical condition, genetic makeup, diet, exercise, smoking habits, alcohol intake and skin elasticity.

In a liposuction treatment, a cannula is used in tandem with a suction machine to remove the subcutaneous fat in the specified area. At this time, you will be under IV sedation or general anesthesia in our surgical center. The procedure can take up to an hour or more, depending on how many areas are involved. Recovery is relatively easy, including a short period of swelling and/or redness followed by a gradual healing taking place over a few months.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

The word “laser” is actually an acronym, standing for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A surgical laser is essentially a powerful beam of light with the ability to remove unwanted tissue, such as scarred, lined, wrinkled and otherwise cosmetically imperfect skin. Laser light is incredibly precise in depth and size, making the procedure both safe and predictable, reducing the risk of scarring or pigmentation issues post-operation.

The end result is smoother, more youthful looking skin. Laser skin resurfacing reduces the sight of tiny wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage and other minor skin imperfections, especially in the delicate areas around the eyes and mouth.

In a laser skin resurfacing treatment, a local anesthetic is used to ensure there is no pain or discomfort during the procedure. After cleaning and draping the skin, your doctor will direct the laser beam towards the skin imperfections to quickly and accurately vaporize the outermost layers of skin, only four or five cells in thickness.

In many cases, only one single treatment is necessary to treat these minor imperfections. Thanks to the precise nature of this treatment, results take the form of subtle improvements rather than total modifications of the face. Results will also vary depending on additional factors including the size, shape and location of the affected area and the patient’s heredity, age and general skin condition.

Skin Rejuvenation

Skin rejuvenation treatments seek to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, lighten areas of hyperpigmentation and give the skin a softer, more youthful texture. A skin rejuvenation program is often performed in conjunction with other cosmetic facial procedures, including chemical peels and/or laser wrinkle removal. However, it’s possible to see results with or without these additional treatments, depending on your individual needs.

The first step in a skin rejuvenation treatment is to meet with your doctor for a consultation. At this consultation, we will develop a personalized treatment plan for you including any and all additional treatments and/or procedures that can enhance your results and reduce the need for subsequent appointments.

The core features of the program can be followed at home with support from our dedicated skin care specialists, using the latest and most effective skin care techniques available. We encourage you to schedule a consultation to determine how you might be able to achieve smoother, fresher, more youthful skin with skin rejuvenation.

Eyelid Surgery

The eyes are one of the most prominent facial features, and one of the first things we notice about others. However, it is the surrounding skin around the eyes, rather than the eyes themselves, that truly convey our emotions. The tissue, muscle, fat, hair and lashes around our eyes all contribute to how we look and communicate with others through our expressions.

The aging process can cause unwanted changes to this sensitive skin in the form of wrinkles, puffiness and deep lines around the eyes. These changes in appearance can cause unwanted changes in expression, making us look permanently fatigued and older than we really are, and causing emotional distress as well as occasional visual impairment. An eyelid lift, called a blepharoplasty, is designed to restore the eyes to a more youthful appearance by targeting these expressive parts of our eyes.

In an eyelid lift, local anesthesia is used around the eyes, though sedation may also be given if necessary. General anesthesia is rarely used, as it is often unneeded. During the procedure, you will be awake but fully comfortable and relaxed. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis at our surgical center and will require that you have someone with you to drive you home and care for you for the first 24 hours of recovery.

Rhinoplasty/Nose Surgery

A rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a nose job, is a surgical procedure designed to structurally alter the appearance of the nose. This procedure can be performed for cosmetic reasons, health reasons or both.

The nose is made up of bone, cartilage and skin. The upper portion is primarily bone, while the lower portion is mainly cartilage. Rhinoplasty can sculpt either or both of these structures within the nose. During a consultation with our team, we will determine what exact treatment plan will work best for you, your needs and desired goals.

During a rhinoplasty, you will be given a local anesthetic with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on how complex the surgery is and what your individual needs are. This allows you to remain totally relaxed and comfortable during the procedure.

Rhinoplasty often involves a small incision at the base of your nose, between your nostrils. From there, your surgeon can readjust the bone and cartilage. Depending on the nature of your procedure, your surgeon may transplant cartilage and/or bone from your nose, ear or even ribs to create the new structure of your nose. To improve breathing, we may straighten or adjust the wall between the two sides of the nose, called the septum, in addition to any cosmetic changes.

Facelifts

A facelift, professionally known as a rhytidectomy, is a procedure designed to lift and smooth the skin around the face and neck, resulting in a more youthful appearance. As we age, our skin tends to relax, especially in the areas where our skin is particularly delicate, such as the eyelids, neck and face.

This relaxing of the skin causes sagging, which can make you appear tired and older than your years. To rectify this, a facelift may be recommended to restore the youthful appearance of the face and neck. Face lifts may also be performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery or other surgical procedures to rejuvenate aging skin and features.

In a facelift procedure, you will be given sedation or general anesthesia depending on your personal needs and the doctor’s recommendations. Using a small incision, fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the face, jowls and neck, and the underlying tissue is similarly repositioned. A second incision under the chin may be necessary for cases particularly focusing on the skin in and around the neck.

Otoplasty/Ear Surgery

Otoplasty, also known as cosmetic ear surgery, is a procedure intended to alter the shape, position or size of the ears. For those with protruding or over-developed ears, otoplasty can be a great option to reduce the appearance of the ears.

Ear surgery is commonly referred to as “pinning back” the ears as a way of minimizing their appearance. This is a great option for those who have large or misshapen ears due to an injury or birth defect. Over-developed ears can be a cause of psychological stress and trauma, which is why it’s important to offer intervention and support for those wishing to pursue this procedure.

Otoplasty is only available for children once their ears have stopped developing, usually around the age of six. Speak with our team for a consultation to determine if this procedure is right for your specific needs.
